Hi! My name is Lily Kraft and I am a sophomore at the University of Michigan. I created this website for the Minor in Writing gateway course.

The contents of this website were inspired by an essay I wrote in my freshman year of college about the effect of genre on my identity. Within that assignment, I touched upon the influences that female movie protagonists had on my development. I expanded on the idea of that paper and focused this website specifically on societal expectations of women.

Music By Eloise:
Eloise is a fairly new British artist, whose impact on me dawned quite suddenly. Her music is filled with soft Jazz tones and she writes mostly songs about love. Through her lyrics about relationships and her chord expertise, I have grown to associate Eloise's music with loving myself and loving the female experience. My hope is that you will play the song as you go through the website.
